Very Rare Spanish -American War, Gen. Fitshugh Lee Mantle Clock 1903This very rare piece of American history has been in my family for 4 generations. It's always been said that it was of General Lee of the Civil War so that's how it was previously listed.. obviously, at some point someone down the line got their signals crossed as to which Gen. Lee this clock was honoring..lol A few great Ebayers..and one asshat.. brought this to my attention and so after my own research I was able to clarify the error and am now listing it with the correct and verified info. I must say, after the research I understand why this Gen. Lee ..Gen. Fitshugh Lee..was so deserving of this tribute. He was truly a great American. Here's just a brief summary..
Fitzhugh Lee was a Confederate cavalry general in the American Civil War, the 40th Governor of Virginia, diplomat, and United States Army general in the Spanish–American War. He was the son of Sydney Smith Lee, a captain in the Confederate States Navy, and the nephew of General Robert E. Lee.

What a beautiful heirloom piece.
Clock is not in working condition and I got a quote of about 225 to get it in working order.
