    Description

    This model 1902 U.S. Army hat and jacket is i'd to W. Payne a corporal in the infantry with the 11 Reg. Co. G. The jacket comes with inspector's label on the inside right side with the manufacturer's name, Susskind & Co. Philadelphia dated Feb. 18, 1909 with the government inspector's stamp above it. On the right side underside sweatband you will find his name W. Payne. The sweatband is loose  on the hat but other than that the hat looks in good condition. His corporal stripes were never stitched and are held on with a pin.The cords do show some usage at one of the knots but other than that they show well. I didn't exactly know how the cord was worn there but is there for your inspection.
