  • Condition: This is an antique cavalry saddle. I believe it is a 1896 Spanish American War era saddle as it is black, and the military only had these saddles made in black for seven years before switching to russet (the color is worn and faded in places, but it was originally black). It sells AS-IS, just as pictured, as a decor item or project. Aside from a light cleaning, I have done nothing to it. The tree is tight, but there are some damaged spots along the upper edge of the cantle, as well as one brass slot plate. The leather covering the tree is in good shape, and all of the stitching is in good condition. The skeleton rigging has been replaced and is in good condition. The left stirrup ring is missing. There are no stirrups or stirrup leathers. Please look at the pictures closely (use the zoom feature for best view), and read the full description below. Thank you.

    comes in the exact condition pictured and described. It came from an estate sale, and I have no information regarding the exact history. Please look at pictures closely. Thank you.
